>Julie Taymor's hallucinogenic musical follows the arduous journey of star-crossed lovers Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood) as they and a small group of musicians are swept up in the raging waters of the volatile counterculture movement. Guided through their journey by a pair known only as Dr. Robert (Bono) and Mr. Kite (Eddie Izzard), Jude and Lucy are … (etc etc.)

So here’s what I’m picturing:

Jed sets out from Tennessee to go where the winds don’t blow so strange. The bus comes by and they get on: Jed, his dog Alligator, a goofy lovable beatnik known as St. Stephen, the hottie Lucy, and Jed’s childhood friend Althea. He’s wondering which to choose (between Lucy and Althea, that is) when then they all fall in with a squint-eyed stranger named Jack Straw. It's a dark starry night. Things start to get scary. Thank goodness for the timely appearance of a waterfront panhandler …

as long as they don't have to visit poor Peter, it's sounding pretty good so far... I envision a few trance/dance numbers with Hell's Angels as well.

AR, you have a gift.

This looks pretty cool, and could be coming as early as this spring. Amazing riches, TWO GD movies?

I hated the Beatles movie, it was really stupid. Im not just saying that it really was just bad. I left the theatre probably half way through the movie.
I really hope they don't screw this up. The Dead's music has a certain feel to it and I don't know how easy that is to capture on film. Unless of course its just concert footage, which this obviously isn't
